As I work with clients I am often asked to help setup hosting for their websites. From this experience I have found a few hosts that I recommend, some I warn very strongly against and a few in the middle. The top list is hosting companies that I use and would use again. The bottom list is ones that I will never use again.
Hosting Companies I will Use: |
GoDaddy - I don't love the interface, but there hosting has been solid, tech support is good, and they are one of the least expensive hosts I have worked with. (you can click the image to go to their site) |

| ModWest - I think Modwest's support is some of the best I have ever worked with. I like there interface and their hosting seems very stable. Plus they are local! The only complaint I have is the cost. (you can click the image to go to their site) |

Host Monster - I have a colleague that has used Host Monster and likes them. I like the look of their prices and I will probably try them for a site in the future. |

Hosting Companies I will NEVER use again: |
IPower - There hosting was hacked repeatedly infecting our site with nasty code. There support was useless and their tactic for making money was to hold your site hostage until you paid a “redemption fee”. |

| JaquarPC – The hosting was not very stable and websites were often going down. Tech support was ok if you could get them to respond and their user control panel was a complete mess. |

| 3Essentials – To be fair, the client I have with this host has the “Windows” hosting. I think the Linux hosting would be much better. However, the control panel (Plesk) is a mess and there are many things you can not do without calling support. Also, if you try to change or add an FTP account it will “lock” the main FTP account until you contact support. We have had several days of downtime because of this host. |
